Whilst physical well-being clearly has great importance, it is also very helpful and undoubtedly beneficial in terms of speed of recovery from surgery, to be in a relaxed frame of mind. It is certainly unwise to pursue cosmetic surgery at a time of major life crisis, such as bereavement or divorce, for example, when considering options and making decisions may be more difficult than under normal circumstances.

In summary, while you do not need to be fanatical about health, fitness, diet, or nutrition - and, in fact, this may be disadvantageous - a little thought and a sensible, moderate approach is undoubtedly helpful and likely to speed recovery from an operation.
